Our perceptions about cosmetic surgery have changed over the last few years. A consumer survey by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery published in February 2010 confirms that many procedures have become more “accepted” than ever.
Over 70% of survey respondents think society is now less judgmental about cosmetic surgery, and this less judgmental attitude has made them feel more comfortable about having a procedure done.
The most widely accepted procedure is breast augmentation, followed by face lifts and tummy tucks. Botox and laser hair removal have become routine for many consumers.
