Italians Love Vaginal Rejuvenation

A growing number of Italian women are interested in vaginal rejuvenation to boost their sex lives. Being Italian myself, I am not surprised.

In fact, in Europe, where people are generally more open about new things, vaginoplasty and labiaplasty are quite popular among women who are have had more than one child.

Dr. Alessandro Littara in Milan does about 50 cases a year. “We shrink the vagina so the muscles regain tone and the woman is able to ‘feel’ more again”, he said.

Vaginoplasty is the rejuvenation and/or remodeling of the vagina with the help of surgery or laser surgery. Labiaplasty is the labia reduction and beautification. Littara said that around 100 women request this type of surgery each year, which includes injecting human issue or acids into the vagina’s external labia to recreate their youthful plumpness.

“The typical patient is aged between 25 and 40, most commonly 30-35 …most are happily married and are often accompanied by their partners”, said Littara.

A labiaplasty operation typically costs around 5,000 euros (about $6,300), while Vaginoplasty costs 7,000 euros. Both are done in outpatient facilities and hospitals under a local anesthetic.
