Some visitors of this site may disagree with me and say that all this vaginal rejuvenation buzz is genital mutilation. Some may cringe at the idea of a doctor carving up their most sensitive spots. Some may argue that doctor’s claims that these procedures enhance sexual sensitivity are inflated.
I respect everybody’s opinion and I hope readers will respect mine. I am a gynecologic surgeon, and in my 25 odd years of practice I have seen a lot of unhappy women and heard a lot of confessions. I began offering vaginoplasties as standalone procedures after I was inspired by the feedback I received from a few women who requested genital improvements. I gave them a chance to tighten their private parts pulverized by childbirth, or to just correct those that Mother Nature made asymmetrical or imperfect. One of my patients, a 39-year-old mother of three, who had some post-childbirth urinary incontinence issues, told me: “After the procedure, my vaginal area feels like I’m a teenager again, everything is back to its original state. My sexual life is fine now. I’m so glad I did it.”
Popularized by David Matlock, a gynecologist in LA, and the reality TV show “Dr. 90210,” vaginal rejuvenation started more than 10 years ago as a response to functional problems, such as pelvic-floor laxity, but patients started telling their doctors about its “side effect” of improved sexual gratification, some surgeons began offering the procedures as elective.
Women want to look good all over, including “down there”. This is natural, and this is admirable. I love doing vaginal rejuvenation procedures because they make my patients happy.
Vaginal rejuvenation primarily refers to two types of surgery: Vaginoplasty, which tightens the vaginal canal and muscles stretched out by childbirth; and labiaplasty (minora and majora), which involves cutting uneven, asymmetric, droopy, bulky or discolored labia that a woman might find unsightly or uncomfortable. These procedures help improve the aesthetics, genital function and sexual satisfaction.

Now that I have my own certified surgery center, I can do all these procedures at Rinnova Med-Surgical and Laser Institute, i.e. without hospitalization and the inflated charges that come with it.
